Commissioned for Spill Festival, 2021, JENNY is a cyberpunk space-opera told through data logs, error reports and archived missives from the future. The performance tells the story of a mutant cyborg enslaved by a corporate technocracy which harvests the dreams of her mutant kin to uphold the wealth and power of human society. The project looked stage narratives of transgender survival and hope within an increasingly hostile and hopeless society, as a response to the uptick in transphobic vitriol within Britain and the wider world. Written by Vyvyan Stewardson and scored by Alicia Jane Turner, with additional compositions by Stewardson.
